Still Digital Photography
Recently I upgraded to a Canon Power shot SX20 IS camera, while not a DSLR It’s as close to one as you can probably get, Don’t want a DSLR anyway this meets all my needs and more. I thought here I would show all the digital cameras that I have used since my venture in to digital photography.
The First Digital Camera I owned was a Sony Cybershot Dsc-51. With a whopping 2 mega pixels, 2x Optical Zoom, 1/2.7″ (6.64mm) Sony Super HAD 2.0 Megapixel Effective, Still Image: 1600 x 1200, 1280 x 960, 640 x 480, 320×240, PEG Movie: 320 x 240 HQX, 320 x 240, 160 x 112 (NO AUDIO) it had other bits and bobs, but a very basic camera. (example shots from this camera, include Amsterdam and New York 2003)
Next Came the Konica Minilta z5 the massive 12x optical zoom drew me to this camera, 1/2.5″ CCD, 5.2 million total pixels, other specs are • 35 – 420 mm equiv. (12x optical zoom) F2.8 – F4.5, APO GT, 13 elements in 10 groups, Image size can be 2,560 x 1,920, 2,048 x 1,536, 1,600 x 1,200, shutter speeds Program AE: 2 – 1/1000 sec, ISO 50,100,200,320. Also capable of shooting movies, this time with sound. example photos include the Paris sets > 2008, New York 2008, Washington D.C and Canada 2009. oh ifs for sale too, drop me a email if interested….
Nikon CoolPix L12 This was purchased as a small supplementary camera, as the Minolta Z5 was to large to carry around on a daily basis ect, picked it on on a cracking deal whilest in new York. It has 7.0 mega Pixels, 3x optical zoom lens (35-105mm in 35mm equivalent), High ISO capabilities up to 1600 (Auto only, no manual control), Automatic exposure and 17 pre-programmed Scene modes, also does videos 640×480 @ 30fps movie mode with Audio, examples of these shots are scatterd around a few galleries .
Most recent purchase was the Canon SX20 IS It was either this on a DSLR, This offers almost the same functionality than a DSLR. 1/2.3 ” Type CCD, 12.1 million effective pixels, Image sizes of up to 4000 x 3000, 28- 560 mm equivalent, 20x Optical zoom (W00t!!) iso, Auto, 80, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, shutter speed Auto (1 – 1/3200 sec), 15-1/3200 sec, aperture, Auto (1 – 1/3200 sec), Videos maximum 1280 x 720 @ 30fps. lots more features, google it.
Video
Kodak Zx1 a basic pocket video camera, shoots in 720p HD, at 60 fps with 16:9 aspect ratio. It’s also waterproof, this helps since I live in Scotland.
