A 33-year-old resident of Lundar, Manitoba is facing numerous charges after allegedly making a series of 911 calls which included demanding RCMP officers somehow bring the National Hockey League back to the province.

“He began the conversation by saying he wanted the Jets back. He was quite upset about it,” a justice source told the Free Press on Wednesday. The incident occurred last year but was never reported publicly by police. The Free Press uncovered details this week through court documents.

The potential return of the NHL has been a hot topic in recent years, with many believing it’s a matter of when, not if, Winnipeg gets a team back. And while the subject usually triggers passionate debate, this is believed to be the first time it has ever prompted police action.

The emergency dispatcher politely told the angry caller there was nothing she could do to help him and reminded him that he was tying up a valuable resource before hanging up. But the man continued to phone back, claiming he had a lot on his mind.

“He had apparently been drinking and told police he hadn’t slept in days. He started talking about world conglomerates, things like that. He was hallucinating, obviously,” said the source.

The final straw came when the man began insulting the 911 operator, eventually calling her a crude name. She warned him that his number had been traced and police were being sent out to arrest him.

“If you’re coming to get me, can you bring me some smokes,” was his reply.

A Ryanair Boeing 737-800, registration EI-DWS performing flight FR-8904 from Berlin Schoenefeld (Germany) to Rygge (Norway), was enroute when a male passenger (45) decided to purchase one of the sandwiches advertised as freshly made, however was served something he thought was not meeting expectations and tasted more like rubber. When he complained about the quality of the sandwich, the crew decided to request police meet the aircraft on arrival in Rygge. The airplane landed safely, police took the passenger off the aircraft.

Rygge’s police confirmed the incident stating with chuckles they had never before been called out for a passenger complaining about a sandwich. After taking note of the passengers identity they sent the passenger home. No charges were brought forward by police.

Ryanair said, the captain requested police due to the unruly behaviour of the passenger. Assistance by police is requested only when absolutely necessary by assessment of the crew.

“I decided this weekend to try and quiten my PC by following some other members lead and going down the water cooling road. The fans on my PC were really starting to drive me mad

The first thing that I did was to remove all the fans. The one on the processor and graphics card were no problem but the one in the power unit was a bugger to get out.

The most difficult part was sealing all the ventilitation openings in the PC case with silicon. I also put silicon all around the joints on the PC case. The smell of silicon was dreadful but when my wife complained I told her to be patent as it will be worth it when we have a completely silent PC.

Because I had completely sealed the PC case the only opening near top was the DVD drive. So I opened that and put the small hose I had purchased specially for the job into the DVD drive as far as it would go. With what I can only describe as great excitement and anticipation, I turned on the water. It really is amazing just how long it took before the case was complete full, and boy was it heavy. That didn’t really bother me as I didn’t intend to be moving the PC anyway.

The big moment had arrived so I called in my wife and mother in law (who was visiting) and I announced “prepare to hear nothing!” and flicked the switch on the socket on the wall.

Before I could even press the power button on front of the PC, with a loud bang, the whole place was plunged into darkness

I knew that it was only the tripswitch so I told my onlookers not to panic and I ran out to the hall to turn the trip switch back on. But can u believe it, it wouldn’t stay on. After five attempts I decided to try unplugging the PC and would you believe…yes the trip switch stayed on. My conclusion: the PC must have in some way been causing the problem.

After about an hour of tries I finally decided to abandon the whole idea of water cooling and emptied the water out of the PC, put back in the fans (except the fan in the power unit, I had broken that one getting it out) and tried the pc AGAIN. IT STILL CAUSED THE TRIP SWTICH TO BLOW!

My PC is completely shagged thanks to stupid suggestions that I got on this forum. What the hell am I going to do now. I spent two hours last night with a hair drier inside the PC case and it still trips the switch.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated

A PASSERBY was accidentally shot as a bungling security guard cleaned his gun outside an Indian bank.

The Times of India said Bappa Das, 22, was blasted in the stomach when the gun went off in the North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, northeast India.

Mr Das, who was wandering past the bank where Rabin Biswas worked, slumped to the ground and lay in a pool of blood several minutes before locals came to his aid.

He was rushed to the hospital in a serious condition while Mr Biswas, 30, was arrested by police.

“We have arrested the security guard. He claimed that he shot the boy accidentally while he was cleaning his gun,” said a police official.

Mr Biswas tried to flee after the incident but a mob chased him down, the Times said.
