Ahhh, the old fella windoze windows 95 is 15 years old today. took me a good while to install, did not want to move away from good old DOS 6. ahhh them were the days. :|

PC world had a story here.

oh also the horror show that was Microsoft BOB is also 15, I did find a old copy so will probably install it on a virtual machine sometime. watch this space. umm, well come to think about it thats probably a waste of time.

Retro Crap moment: Jumping Jack is a platform game for the ZX Spectrum 16K released in 1983. It was available for the Atari 8-bit computers and Dragon 32 under the name Leggit!

Played this game for hours when I was a kid,

Graphics were crap on todays standards, but gameplay was pretty good

Double Dragon – Arcade Game.
(yes This is not a poster for the double dragon arcade game, but the nintendo, but this one brings back memories so meh!)

A two player co-operative side scrolling martial arts game, that was probably one of the original in this genre. Typical storyline fight through multiple levels, to rescue a girlfriend, using Punch, Kicks, Throws, Knifes Baseball bats ect…

Oh how I remember playing this as a kid…. feeling old now
It was also available for all other major platforms at the time/

Sweet 16 is a Apple II GS emulator, grab the emulator here and disk images from Syndicomm you also need a ROM image, I cant give you this but I am sure if you ask google nicely you will get one.
I have to say, this was a advanced system for its time … up to 8mb in 1986… Nice!!

actually … old browsers are harder to find than I originally said
to many dead links… have some old apps i wanna post soon-ISH (after 10 days)
i found the canadian encyclopedia …. this was before the northwestern split with Nunavut …. what else has changed…. probably loads….

I guess IE5 is relatively new compared with windows 3.1 time to dig out some old browsers that would be relevant to days of yore. Its relatively easy to find old browsers, thanks to google.

First Stop Mosaic, I tried two versions 1.something and 2.0a, both failed to load this site. oh well, second was Netscape 2.02 ( I picked this because it was the first browser i used heavily)

Well, it loaded the page, kinda – not the Style Sheet and some Java error.
we can forgive it for this, as its a bloody old browser.

I will try some others later, any ideas???? (perhaps a post from a retro browser – HA!)
but it does beg the question …. why am I wasting my time

I installed virtual pc on the windows box, dug out some old software, DOS 6.22 and Windows for workgroups 3.11 surprisingly the old floppies still worked. After some digging around on the internetweb-thinggy I found suitable drivers for the graphics, Sound, TCP stack, NIC… I even found a copy of IE5 (yes i know its shit, will replace with Netscape when I find it….. if i can be arsed) But alas the web is not what it should be.

While its not bad its not what it should be….but i guess its RETRO!!!!! Yay! where is that
OS/2 warp CD (side note, i did originally download the drivers a while back, unfortunately the links I had seem to be dead now, let me know if you are interested if I can I will try and make them available….. only drivers, should be no copyright nonsense with that, right???)
